We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Risk & Compliance Specialist to support our safety, compliance, risk management, and insurance programs while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement throughout the organization. Position Summary The Risk & Compliance Specialist serves as a key resource for safety initiatives, compliance programs, insurance administration, workers' compensation management, and risk mitigation efforts. This position works closely with Human Resources, Operations, and Leadership to help protect company assets, reduce liability exposure, maintain regulatory compliance, and support employee safety initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience and training will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, safety, risk management, insurance administration, human resources, transportation, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Experience within transportation, logistics, fleet operations, or industrial environments preferred.
  • Experience administering insurance claims, workers' compensation claims, or compliance programs preferred.

  • Ability to interpret regulations and apply practical solutions.

  • Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate insurance claims involving company-owned, leased, or rented equipment and assets.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers, adjusters, attorneys, vendors, and operational teams regarding claim activity.
  • Maintain Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and monitor vendor insurance compliance.
  • Assist with insurance audits, renewals, risk assessments, and loss prevention initiatives.
  • Support recovery and subrogation efforts through documentation and follow-up.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance programs related to DOT and FMCSA requirements.
  • Conduct compliance reviews and help prepare for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain employee qualification, training, and compliance records.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and assist in implementing policy and procedural changes.
  • Support the development and administration of company policies and compliance initiatives.
  • Review telematics and fleet performance reports to identify safety trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with monitoring driver scorecards and fleet risk metrics.
  • Coordinate safety improvement activities with operational leaders.
  • Prepare reports related to safety performance, compliance metrics, and risk management efforts.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing accidents, claims, and overall risk exposure.
  • Conduct facility, yard, and warehouse safety inspections.
  • Track corrective actions and follow up on safety-related concerns.
  • Coordinate Safety Committee meetings and maintain related documentation.
  • Promote employee participation in safety programs and near-miss reporting.
  • Support department leaders in implementing safety improvements and best practices.
  • Assist with investigations involving workplace injuries, property damage, vehicle accidents, and safety incidents.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation reporting, documentation, and claim administration.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees, supervisors, medical providers, and insurance representatives.
  • Support return-to-work and transitional duty programs.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with trend analysis and reporting.
  • Coordinate and facilitate safety, compliance, and risk management training programs.
  • Conduct orientation sessions, policy reviews, and safety meetings.
  • Reinforce company expectations regarding safety, compliance, and risk reduction.
  • Assist with employee communications related to compliance and safety initiatives.
