For more information, visit www.eyecare-partners.com. SUMMARY The Risk and Safety Manager oversees clinical risk management and patient safety across surgery centers. This role develops and implements safety strategies, ensures regulatory compliance, and serves as a subject matter expert to identify, assess, and mitigate risks affecting patients and visitors. It partners closely with clinical leadership and related teams to promote a culture of safety and high-quality care.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of healthcare risk management principles and healthcare standards of practice.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to patient safety reporting, adverse events, and grievance management.
  • Understanding of professional and general liability and liability insurance practices.
  • Strong investigative skills, including incident analysis and witness interviewing techniques.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage critical situations in a professional, objective, and effective manner.
  • Ability to make independent, real-time decisions within the clinical risk management and patient safety scope of responsibility.
  • Ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with clinical leaders and staff.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to educate and train clinical personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Preferred (Healthcare Administration, Health and Safety, or related field)
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a clinical role or clinical management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead patient safety and risk management programs for surgical operations
  • Identify, investigate, and mitigate safety risks, adverse events, and near misses
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting and organizational policies
  • Conduct root cause analyses and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide consultation, training, and guidance to clinical teams
  • Support patient grievance resolution related to safety concerns
  • Monitor trends and recommend process improvements to reduce risk
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to strengthen safety practices and outcomes
