About The Position

Manage commercial insurance, claims, risk management, and contract review for Emerald Queen Casino. This role identifies legal, financial, insurance, and operational risks, recommends practical solutions, and partners with Purchasing, leadership, and legal counsel to protect the organization. The Risk and Contract Manager position includes the following duties: Contract Review: Review contracts and business agreements to identify financial, insurance, operational, regulatory, and liability risks. Evaluate key contract terms, including indemnification, insurance, liability, warranties, termination, confidentiality, and dispute resolution, and recommend appropriate revisions. Identify significant legal risks and coordinate review with Tribal Legal Counsel or outside counsel. Partner with Purchasing and other departments to communicate findings and maintain contract risk standards and review guidelines. Insurance Program Administration: Coordinate the placement, renewal, and administration of commercial insurance policies. Evaluate coverage, carrier proposals, deductibles, and risk-financing options with insurance brokers and Finance leadership. Maintain insurance records and review policies for coverage gaps, exclusions, and operational requirements. Claims Management: Manage the documentation, investigation, submission, monitoring, and resolution of insurance claims. Coordinate evidence and claim documentation and maintain claim files, deadlines, reserves, and loss-run data. Analyze claim trends and recommend corrective actions while communicating appropriately with claimants. Risk Assessment & Loss Control: Conduct operational risk assessments and coordinate carrier inspections and corrective actions. Partner with departments on loss prevention, business continuity, emergency preparedness, property protection, and recovery planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, Contract Management, or a related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in commercial contract review, insurance, claims, or risk management.
  • Experience reviewing commercial contracts and identifying material risk provisions.
  • Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays
  • All applicants must obtain a Class III A license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission.
  • Pre-employment drug testing is required for all positions.
