The Risk and Assurance Manager is responsible for implementing processes and controls to identify, manage, and mitigate risk throughout the credit union, with primary responsibility for Enterprise Risk Management, Vendor Management, coordination of the outsourced Internal Audit function, and Insurance Management. This will include assessing control structures within the credit union to determine where potential gaps and weaknesses exist, which expose the credit union to litigation and regulatory punishment. This position works closely with the Chief Risk Officer to identify and assess current and emerging risks and implement oversight in the key risk areas of policies and procedures. The Risk and Assurance Manager will conduct periodic risk assessments and other special projects to identify and quantify control weaknesses, and recommend changes in policies, procedures, training, and other internal controls to mitigate risk. The position assists the Chief Risk Officer in implementing a comprehensive system, including software, policies, and procedures, for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and oversees the quality assurance program.
