About The Position

This role is for a Risk Analyst in the Middle Office team, based in Houston. The position is part of a global team of risk management experts focused on core market risks. The analyst will collaborate with commercial and hedging teams to support decision-making by monitoring market risk exposures, calculating financial impacts, and ensuring compliance with market risk regulations. A key aspect of the role involves ensuring adherence to internal practices and controls.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience from the Commodity sector, either directly from risk management or a closely related field (operations etc.).
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, economics, engineering, math/physics or related field.
• Previous experience from working with the commodity sector, for example from middle office or operations.
• Strong collaboration skills, hard work ethic and willingness to learn more about the commodity sector.
• Basic understanding of renewable energy markets including RIN & LCFS and financial derivatives.

Nice To Haves

• Solid IT skills, especially with PBI and MS environment.
• Previous experience from Allegro or SAP is considered to be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Report risk exposures and P&L numbers related to core refining hedging and trading activities.
• Support feedstock and product trading related risk reporting activities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as commercial teams, operations, and business finance to assist with risk identification, trade entry flow, and hedging activities.
• Ensure trade entry capture and other internal processes are followed by front offices.
• Work closely with other global middle office teams to improve and simplify internal processes and reporting automation.
