About The Position

TerraPower is seeking a highly talented and motivated Schedule Risk Analyst to work within its Project Management Office and Project Risk Management Program. The role quantifies, evaluates, and communicates schedule uncertainty across complex nuclear design, procurement, and construction efforts. It works closely with project controls, planning and scheduling, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to integrate schedule risk analysis into execution strategies and support confident, risk-informed decision-making. The position plans and conducts schedule risk analyses, evaluates schedule quality, models uncertainty and risk impacts, and communicates results and recommendations to project leadership. It also supports risk-informed contingency and target-date decisions, risk workshops, mitigation and recovery analysis, integrated cost and schedule risk analysis, and the development of schedule risk tools and procedures. The role reports to the TerraPower Project Management Office within the Project Risk Management Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in project controls or risk management, with a strong focus on schedule risk analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with scheduling tools such as Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated experience building and running Monte Carlo schedule simulations and interpreting the results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid grasp of critical path method (CPM) scheduling principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present complex probabilistic results to technical and executive audiences.
  • Experience facilitating risk management sessions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with risk management methodologies and standards such as ISO 31000 and COSO.
  • High degree of trust and integrity, open communication, respect, and a desire to foster teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with schedule analysis and risk tools such as Deltek Acumen Fuse, Acumen Risk, Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis, @RISK, or similar.
  • Professional certifications such as PMI-SP, PMI-RMP, PMP, PE, CRM, or AACE certifications such as PSP or CCP.
  • Advanced degree in engineering, risk management, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with integrated cost and schedule risk analysis and risk management software such as Active Risk Manager.
  • Knowledge of the nuclear industry, nuclear-specific regulatory requirements and standards such as DOE G 413.3-7A, EPC agreements, and nuclear power design principles.
  • Experience with large capital projects, including first-of-a-kind or complex engineering, procurement, and construction environments.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, build, and run schedule risk analyses on integrated project schedules to estimate the probability of achieving key milestones and completion dates.
  • Develop and execute Monte Carlo simulations, defining duration uncertainty, risk event probabilities and impacts, correlations, and calendar and logic risks.
  • Interpret simulation results—including confidence levels, criticality indices, sensitivity and tornado analyses, and driving-path analysis—and communicate insights and recommendations to project leadership.
  • Determine schedule contingency and management reserve needs, and recommend risk-informed target dates at defined confidence levels such as P50 and P80.
  • Assess schedule quality and integrity, including logic, constraints, float, and critical path, and work with schedulers to resolve deficiencies before analysis.
  • Integrate schedule risk with the project risk register by linking identified risks to schedule activities and quantifying time impacts.
  • Assess risk situations involving schedule, cost, quality, and operational capacity.
  • Perform what-if, mitigation, and scenario analyses to evaluate the schedule benefits of response strategies and recovery plans.
  • Support integrated cost and schedule risk analysis when required.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and expert elicitation sessions to collect duration ranges and risk inputs from project teams.
  • Represent Risk to project teams and guide them on documentation and processes that support schedule risk management.
  • Monitor subcontractor and partner schedule information to identify emerging risks and drive corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with project managers, planners and schedulers, and engineering and construction leads to develop or implement comprehensive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain and enhance schedule risk tools, templates, and procedures so they are accessible, user-friendly, and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Partner with project teams, Legal, and/or outside consultants to evaluate schedule impacts and responsibility among parties in delay and claim situations.
  • Stay current on industry trends, software products, and regulatory changes affecting schedule risk and project risk management in the nuclear industry.
