This role provides support to specific riser projects or programs with cost reimbursement through intercompany billing. The Riser Technical Manager will manage and coordinate the activities of staff, including training, employee development, performance evaluation, hiring decisions, and the establishment of goals and performance objectives for the assigned department. This position involves the continual evaluation of department processes, methods, and activities to ensure the most effective use of resources and equipment. The manager will create and manage riser services activities, including change engineering, design submittals/appraisals, document control, service manuals, and technical literature. A key aspect of this role is identifying customer requirements and concerns to ensure NOV remains competitive. The position also focuses on ensuring regional technical consistency and improving processes for efficient execution. Additionally, the role requires performing other work-related tasks as assigned and complying with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities include developing and enforcing NOV QHSE culture, facilitating global meetings with programs, service, and repair centers to coordinate riser business, and developing and overseeing the execution of a business strategy to retain and grow NOV’s riser AM business. The manager will ensure NOV riser repair facilities meet required production levels and quality/commercial objectives, and establish remote riser repair options in regions without a riser facility. This role serves as a technical resource for risers globally and assists global service and repair teams in developing technical training plans, while also liaising between product engineering and aftermarket.
