About The Position

This role is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of staff within the riser services department, including training, employee development, performance evaluation, hiring decisions, and goal establishment. The position involves providing continual evaluation of department processes and methods to ensure the most effective use of resources and equipment. Key responsibilities include creating and managing riser services activities such as change engineering, design submittals/appraisals, document control, service manuals, and technical literature. The role also focuses on identifying customer requirements, ensuring regional technical consistency, and improving processes for efficient execution. Additionally, the manager will develop and enforce NOV QHSE culture, facilitate global meetings, develop and oversee a business strategy to grow NOV’s riser AM business, and ensure riser repair facilities meet required production levels and objectives. The position also involves establishing remote riser repair options, serving as a global technical resource for risers, and helping develop technical training plans for service and repair teams. The role acts as a liaison between product engineering and aftermarket.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience with Riser and related drilling equipment.
  • Experience managing teams and remote operations.
  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas Regulations.
  • Knowledge of ABS/DNV regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to specific riser projects or programs with cost reimbursement through intercompany billing.
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of staff including training, employee development, performance evaluation, hiring decisions, and the establishment of goals and performance objectives for assigned department.
  • Provide continual evaluation of department processes, methods, and activities to assure the most effective use of resources and equipment.
  • Create and manage the riser services activities including change engineering, design submittals/appraisals, document control, service manuals and technical literature.
  • Identify customer requirements and concerns and ensure NOV remains ahead of our competition.
  • Ensure regional technical consistency and improve processes for efficient execution.
  • Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Develop and enforce NOV QHSE culture.
  • Facilitate global meetings with programs, service and repair centers to coordinate ongoing and future riser business.
  • Develop and oversee execution of a business strategy that will retain and grown NOV’s riser AM business in the face of competition.
  • Ensure NOV riser repair facilities perform at required production levels and meet the quality and commercial objectives.
  • Establish remote riser repair options in regions where we do not have a riser facility.
  • Serve as a technical resource for riser globally.
  • Help global service and repair teams develop technical training plans.
  • Liaise between product engineering and aftermarket.
