About The Position
This is a seasonal position in the Department of Recreation & Human Services involving responsibility for overseeing the various activities at the City's ice skating rinks. Supervision is received from a higher level employee in the Department. Related work is performed as required.
Requirements
- Two seasons of paid experience with the Department of Recreation & Human Services or similar operation.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and evaluates rink staff during open skate
- Collects rental and league fees
- Orders supplies and materials for rinks
- Assists in planning special events
- Maintains skates by cleaning and sharpening
- Teaches staff basics of ice skating
- Assists with building and grounds upkeep
- Computes daily cash reports: register, closings, and bank deposits
- Prepares attendance summaries and other reports as requested
- Assists in the recruitment and interviewing of new staff
- Reviews staff time cards
- Acts as a liaison to Youth Hockey
