About The Position

Ozarks Electric, a member-owned electric cooperative serving over 90,000 meters across nine counties in Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma, is seeking a Right of Way Worker. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electric and fiber services to our members. The position involves performing vegetation management, operating various equipment, and adhering to safety regulations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to use and adapt to changing technology utilized by the company for the position.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain Class A driver's license within twelve months of hire date.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Class A commercial driver's license without violations that would prohibit insurability.
  • Must be able to operate assigned equipment including trucks, skid steer, chain saw, chipper, etc.
  • Must be able to learn and apply information from technical manuals in the completion of duties.
  • Must be able adapt and use different forms of technology used for the position.
  • Must be able to complete reports and other paperwork and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Must become familiar with the National Electrical Safety Code, ANSI standards for the position and cooperative safety procedures.
  • Must be able to deal with a variety of people in varying situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Must be able to perform all activities listed in the job description with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Frequently lifts materials and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds.
  • Occasionally lifts and moves up to 100 pounds.
  • Trims trees, works around noisy equipment and visually inspects work for safe conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Three to six months related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all forms of vegetation management necessary for the safe and reliable delivery of electric and fiber services to the membership.
  • Complete all training and certifications needed to perform daily duties safely and efficiently.
  • Enroll and complete all year one curriculum and on the job training requirements within the right of way apprenticeship program.
  • Maintain and care for tools, equipment and material assigned to vehicles.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Operate certain types of vehicles and associated equipment.
  • Comply with all traffic laws, safety rules, regulations and practices.
  • Report any unsafe conditions observed.
  • Obtain Electrical Hazard Awareness Program Certification within three months of hire date.
  • Obtain Class A CDL within twelve months of hire date.
  • Complete annual tree top rescue utilizing approved industry climbing techniques.
  • Perform any other duties assigned to fulfill the objectives of the Cooperative.
