About The Position

The ROW Agent I will, under direction, support right-of-way activities including acquisition, relocation, property management, and title review/clearance functions by assisting with documentation, research, coordination, and project support activities related to the acquisition of private property for public use under the Federal Uniform Act.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 0-2 years Right of Way or related experience
  • Current Real Estate and/or Notary Public licenses in relevant state(s)
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel to work sites
  • Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, show a high degree of professionalism, and be resourceful and proactive in dealing with obstacles that arise
  • Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth, ArcGIS and data management software
  • Ability to work independently and remotely in various locations inspecting buildings and land, travel throughout the state, and sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend work to meet project deadlines or special events
  • Maintain confidential nature of communications

Responsibilities

  • Assists with preparation of acquisition and relocation files by assembling standard documents, forms, and required attachments using established templates and procedures.
  • Enters, updates, and maintains data in acquisition, relocation, and tracking systems.
  • Maintains organized project files, correspondence, plans, and documentation in accordance with established requirements.
  • Prepares draft correspondence and routine communications for review by senior staff.
  • Gathers preliminary parcel and property owner information using established tools and systems.
  • Conducts introductory or courtesy contact with property owners or tenants to verify information, schedule meetings, or relay prepared messages.
  • Provides factual explanations of process steps as directed; routes negotiation or interpretation questions to senior agents.
  • Schedules site visits, meetings, inspections, and surveys.
  • Prepares occupancy surveys and field documentation for senior agent review.
  • Accompanies senior agents to site visits to take notes, document observations, and collect photos or measurements.
  • Assists with relocation file setup, document collection, and organization of receipts and supporting materials.
  • Supports coordination of moves, inspections, and vendor scheduling under direction.
  • Assists with tracking maintenance, inspections, and property conditions.
  • Completes quality control checklists and supports document tracking to ensure compliance.
  • Communicates regularly with senior staff regarding workload, deadlines, and scheduling needs.
  • Follows established procedures, checklists, and templates to complete work accurately and on time.
  • Performs other related support duties as assigned.
