About The Position
The Rigger prepares, attaches, and guides loads during lifting and moving operations using cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in an industrial or construction environment.
Requirements
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and any site-specific testing requirements.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
- Ability to read and understand lift plans and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of rigging hardware, slings, load charts, and lifting practices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous industrial, construction, or marine rigging experience.
- NCCER Rigger Certification.
Responsibilities
- Inspect slings, chains, shackles, hooks, and other rigging equipment before use.
- Select appropriate rigging gear based on load weight, size, and lifting requirements.
- Safely attach and secure loads for lifting and transport.
- Direct crane operators using standard hand signals and communication methods.
- Verify load weights and ensure lifting capacities are not exceeded.
- Assist with moving, positioning, and setting equipment and materials.
- Comply with OSHA, site-specific, and company safety requirements.
- Identify and report damaged or defective rigging equipment.
- Participate in daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
