Rigger with Class-A CDL
About The Position
Barnhart is hiring a Rigger with a Class-A CDL to support day-to-day crane operations and complex lifting projects across the region. The role combines truck driving with on-site rigging work, including transporting counterweights and equipment between the yard and job sites, helping assemble and break down cranes, and performing rigging, signaling, and load control during lifts. Projects may involve air-conditioning units, transformers, and other industrial equipment. The position is permanent and full-time, with field work and travel as needed. Barnhart specializes in lifting, heavy rigging, and heavy transport of major components used in North American industry. Requirements
- A Class A CDL.
- Experience in rigging or heavy-equipment environments.
- Experience with over-dimensional or heavy-haul transport.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
- A strong work ethic and safety-first mindset.
- Flexibility to work in the field and travel as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with crane support, gantries, or heavy-lift equipment.
- Familiarity with jack-and-slide or specialized rigging systems.
- Mechanical or machinery experience.
Responsibilities
- Support daily crane operations, including setup, rigging, and job-site execution.
- Haul counterweights and equipment between the yard and job sites.
- Assist with crane assembly and breakdown.
- Perform rigging, signaling, and load control during lifts.
- Work on projects involving air-conditioning units, transformers, and industrial equipment.
- Perform a mix of truck driving and on-site rigging work.
- Travel and work in the field as needed.
