About The Position

IMMEC, LLC, an industrial services and construction company, is seeking an experienced Rigger to support projects throughout Georgia. The Rigger is responsible for safely rigging, lifting, moving, positioning, and setting machinery, equipment, and other heavy loads in industrial environments. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong knowledge of safe rigging practices, proper load-handling techniques, and rigging equipment inspection. This position requires travel to project sites and the flexibility to work varying schedules, including overtime and weekends as project needs require. Employment is contingent upon successfully meeting applicable pre-employment requirements, which may include a background check, motor vehicle record review, and drug screening. IMMEC maintains a drug-free workplace.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of rigging practices, equipment, and load-handling procedures.
  • Previous industrial rigging experience required.
  • Class A CDL required.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license required.
  • Must meet company requirements to operate company vehicles when driving is assigned.
  • Ability to understand and follow crane hand signals and other methods of lift communication.
  • Ability to recognize unsafe rigging conditions and equipment.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a field construction team.

Nice To Haves

  • NCCCO Rigger Certification preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred or ability to obtain certification as required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect rigging equipment and materials before use, including slings, shackles, hooks, chains, wire rope, spreader bars, and other lifting devices.
  • Identify damaged, defective, or unsafe rigging equipment and remove it from service when appropriate.
  • Select appropriate rigging equipment based on load weight, configuration, center of gravity, lifting conditions, and equipment capacity.
  • Rig machinery, equipment, structural components, and other materials for lifting and movement.
  • Assist with the alignment, leveling, positioning, anchoring, and setting of machinery and industrial equipment.
  • Safely attach and detach loads from cranes and other lifting equipment.
  • Use standard hand signals and verbal/radio communication to direct crane and equipment operators during lifting operations.
  • Maintain awareness of load movement, personnel, equipment, overhead hazards, and surrounding conditions during lifts.
  • Assist with crane setup and breakdown as assigned.
  • Operate equipment when properly trained, qualified, and authorized.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment safely and properly.
  • Follow lift plans, job hazard analyses, site-specific safety requirements, and company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, incidents, injuries, and near misses.
  • Work cooperatively with crane operators, millwrights, welders, ironworkers, supervisors, and other craft employees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on project and operational needs.
