About The Position

This role is responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance on amusement park rides and related equipment, as well as troubleshooting, replacing, and repairing major components. The technician will read and interpret schematics, respond to maintenance calls, and communicate effectively with management and staff to minimize attraction downtime. Accurate record-keeping through a Computerized Maintenance Management System is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • 2 – 3 years of previous verifiable mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in an industrial or amusement park setting, along with troubleshooting skills a must
  • Able to understand basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
  • Able to work safely and effectively at higher elevations such as ladders, platforms, or other structures that can be as high as 130 ft above ground
  • Must be able to work varied shifts that can include nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment that includes hot and cold conditions
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to use basic mechanical tools (wrenches, sockets, pliers, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Able to drive and operate forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts are a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on amusement park rides and related equipment as assigned; take corrective actions as issues are identified
  • Troubleshoot, replace, and repair major components tied to amusement park rides and attractions such as gearboxes, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, chains, gears, springs, brakes, wheels, hoses, sprockets, and a wide variety of mechanical devices
  • Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
  • Respond to maintenance related radio calls within a timely manner during amusement park operational hours
  • Communicate effectively with management and maintenance staff to ensure fewer attraction downtimes
  • Record work through a Computerized Maintenance Management System for all services performed on ride attractions to maintain appropriate documentation
