Rhoze Retail Manager

Discovery Land CompanyLa Quinta, CA

About The Position

Discovery Land Company is seeking an accomplished boutique retail leader to serve as Rhoze Manager at The Madison Club. This is a rare opportunity to own and operate a luxury retail boutique within one of the world’s most exclusive private clubs — where the bar for member experience, product curation, and visual presentation is exceptionally high. The Rhoze Manager is the defining presence of the Rhoze Luxury Retail Boutique at The Madison Club — setting the standard for how the space looks, feels, and serves members every day. Responsible for the full operation of the Rhoze Luxury Retail Boutique, buying for the Spa Boutique, and daily oversight of both retail spaces, this role demands a boutique operator who leads by example on the floor, knows their product intimately, and understands that in a private club setting, every member interaction is an expression of the brand. Reporting to the General Manager with a dotted line to the Director of Luxury Retail, success here is equal parts relationship-building, merchandising instinct, and operational discipline.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of retail experience, including at least 2 years in a luxury, resort, or hospitality retail management role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in visual merchandising, seasonal floor sets, and maintaining luxury brand presentation standards.
  • Experience managing inventory systems, open-to-buy tools (Management One preferred), and POS platforms.
  • A proven track record delivering exceptional, relationship-driven service to a discerning clientele.
  • Polished, professional presence with the interpersonal skills to engage authentically with an ultra-high-net-worth membership.
  • Flexible schedule availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a private club, luxury resort boutique, or comparable high-touch retail environment.
  • Experience executing trunk shows, brand activations, or member retail events.
  • Familiarity with consignment product management including fine jewelry or luxury accessories.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all daily operations of the Rhoze Luxury Retail Boutique — floor coverage, opening/closing, scheduling, transactional accuracy, and impeccable presentation at all times.
  • Build genuine, lasting relationships with members; maintain a detailed record of member preferences, sizing, and purchase history to deliver proactive, personalized service.
  • Execute special orders, styling consultations, and gift experiences that reflect the Madison Club’s culture of thoughtful hospitality.
  • Conduct a daily check-in with the Spa Boutique to assess visual merchandising, gather sales feedback, and address inventory needs; serve as the primary retail resource for the Spa team.
  • Hold full buying responsibility for the Spa Boutique — from vendor sourcing and purchase order execution through receipt and floor placement — in coordination with Spa leadership and the Director of Luxury Retail.
  • Partner closely with the Director of Luxury Retail on Rhoze seasonal assortment, contributing member insights, sell-through data, and local market context to inform buying decisions.
  • Execute all seasonal floor sets, fixture changes, and visual directives with precision; ensure both boutiques are freshly merchandised and on-brand at all times.
  • Manage vendor relationships, purchase orders, new account setup, and all order tracking across both retail spaces.
  • Oversee all inventory functions across the Rhoze Luxury Retail Boutique and Spa Boutique: receiving, ticketing, replenishment, markdowns, transfers, and end-of-season reconciliation.
  • Utilize Management One (open-to-buy) and POS systems to maintain accurate inventory records and flag discrepancies; conduct regular physical inventories and monitor sell-through.
  • Coordinate with the Retail Administrator and accounting team on invoice processing, AP reconciliation, and retail SOPs.
  • Plan and execute Rhoze Luxury Retail Boutique events — trunk shows, member shopping evenings, seasonal launches, and brand activations — in collaboration with the Madison Club Events team.
  • Identify opportunities throughout the club calendar to activate retail and drive member engagement.
  • Supervise and develop boutique associates; foster a team culture built on product expertise, member-first service, and pride in presentation.
  • Deliver ongoing product knowledge training; partner with the Director of Luxury Retail and HR on recruiting, onboarding, and team development.
