Remote Rheumatology Utilization Reviewer (Oregon Licensed) - 1099 Contractor
About The Position
Medical Review Institute of America (MRIoA), an Independent Review Organization specializing in technology-driven utilization management and clinical medical review, is seeking board-certified Rheumatology physicians to conduct independent Utilization Reviews. This is a flexible, fully remote 1099 independent contractor opportunity requiring approximately 1–2 hours per week, with no minimum commitment. Physicians may work from anywhere in the United States; patient records must remain within the United States under HIPAA regulations. Reviewers are covered under MRIoA’s Errors and Omissions policy and must follow applicable HIPAA regulations and company policies and procedures for protecting the confidentiality, privacy, and security of sensitive health information. Daytime availability is required for peer-to-peer conversations.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO).
- Current Oregon medical license.
- Current board certification in Rheumatology.
- At least 5 years of clinical experience; residency is included in the experience requirement.
- Daytime availability for peer-to-peer conversations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent Utilization Reviews.
- Participate in peer-to-peer conversations during daytime hours.
- Adhere to applicable HIPAA regulations and company policies and procedures concerning the confidentiality, privacy, and security of sensitive health information.
- Ensure patient records do not leave the United States.
