About The Position

The Rheumatology Sales Consultant is responsible for implementing sales and marketing plans to achieve maximum distribution and market penetration of BIPI ILD products within BIPI guidelines. This role involves engaging with key clinics, targeted Rheumatologists, and Allied Healthcare Professionals. Responsibilities extend to sales activities in teaching and community hospitals, as well as federal and military hospitals. The position requires managing a territory that may involve overnight travel and occasional night and weekend meeting commitments. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience required (for Consultant I).
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience required (for Consultant II).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience required (for Sr. Consultant).
  • Strong communications skills are required to perform the job satisfactorily.
  • Ability to travel with overnights and attendance at some weekend programs.
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and any other relevant applications.
  • Ability to translate key scientific information supporting product, competitors, science and marketplace to a broad range of customers.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of Specialty/Rheumatology experience preferred (for Consultant I).
  • Minimum of 3 years of Specialty/Rheumatology experience required (for Consultant II).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of Specialty/Rheumatology experience required (for Sr. Consultant).
  • Track record of working within a high performing team and a cross functional matrix environment (for Sr. Consultant).
  • Excellent communications, objective setting, and influencing skills (for Sr. Consultant).
  • Requires at least 1 year prior experience demonstrating account management, leveraging HUB services, collaborating with clinical educators and specialty pharmacies, supporting reimbursement navigation, working individually outside a "pod" structure, fostering market development, regional Key External Expert (KEE) engagement & relationship management, linking KEEs with appropriate internal stakeholders, fluency in the inner networking and navigation of teaching institutions (for Sr. Consultant).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and utilize product knowledge and selling skills to influence healthcare professionals to support the use of BIPI promoted products.
  • Execute brand strategies and business plans to ensure a consistent company sales and marketing message.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and cooperation with internal BIPI employees.
  • Develop clinic and customer pre-call plans to meet healthcare professional (HCP) and account needs, building valued discussions around HCP needs and opportunities.
  • Foster HCP network development and communication, ensuring accurate and timely follow-up discussions.
  • Use appropriate BIPI sales training techniques to support and encourage scientific knowledge exchange, facilitating patient management and decision-making.
  • Identify key business needs and activities, establish business plans to address territory needs, and involve Sr. Associate Director, Clinical Educator, Payer Relations Managers, and other internal support personnel.
  • Analyze territory information to optimize HCP calls and monitor/react to local market conditions.
  • Develop plans to maximize Regional and National Speaker and other regional sales and marketing programs, adjusting implementation plans regularly.
  • Create opportunities that align with territory and brand tactics.
  • Utilize sales data and analysis to plan activity, monitor literature use, and maintain account and HCP records.
  • Complete all administrative responsibilities in a timely fashion.
  • Successfully complete all sales training requirements.
  • Identify and develop Regional and National thought leaders, innovators, and advocates to support BIPI products, providing feedback and follow-up.
  • Develop realistic plans for speaker and thought leader development.
  • Initiate contacts and network-building among advocates and HCPs.
  • Manage programs and budgets within BI standards, determining efficient utilization of speakers and company resources.
  • Perform all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, DEA, OSHA, PDMA, EPA, PhRMA, etc.) and Company policy and procedures, reporting violations immediately to management.
  • Demonstrate high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts.
  • Provide consistent, timely, and complete administrative duties, including expense reports, call reports, and communications.
  • Accept responsibility for personal development, working closely with Sr. Associate Director and developing a personal development plan with twice annual reviews.
  • Demonstrate complete knowledge of BIPI products and the marketplace, translating product knowledge into sales presentations.
  • Be customer-focused with a priority on providing solutions-based customer interactions.
  • Encourage and receive requests from customers for expert technical information outside of standard visits.
