RF Test Engineer
About The Position
Motorola Solutions, a global community focused on keeping people safer, is seeking an RF Test Engineer for its subsidiary, Silvus Technologies. Silvus Technologies specializes in advanced MANET and MIMO communications systems for mission-critical applications. The RF Test Engineer will be part of the RF Engineering team, reporting to the Director of RF Engineering. This role involves active participation in the design process for the RF subsystem of Silvus’ StreamCaster MANET product line. The position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, in Rancho Bernardo/North San Diego, CA. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of multi-GHz RF hardware development experience.
- Good working knowledge of RF board layout, fabrication, and packaging.
- Hands-on experience with solving EMI, harmonics, spurious, and stability issues.
- Experience using RF simulation tools (i.e. AWR Microwave Office, Altium).
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
- All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities
- Using RF test equipment to evaluate system performance, evaluate compliance compatibility and troubleshoot operation issues.
- Carry out RF test execution and generate status and test reports.
- Define verification matrix and internal specifications of RF performance.
- Review test result data to ensure that actual performance meets expected requirements.
- Review and recommend improvements to existing test strategies.
- Recommend new test techniques and technologies to ensure system performance.
- Design test fixtures and calibrate test equipment.
- Understand proper use and handling of sensitive RF circuits and equipment.
- Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
