RF Test Engineer
About The Position
Motorola Solutions, through its subsidiary Silvus Technologies, is seeking an RF Test Engineer to join their RF Engineering team. This role will report to the Director of RF Engineering and will be responsible for developing the RF subsystem for Silvus’ StreamCaster MANET product line. The position is 100% onsite in Rancho Bernardo/North San Diego, CA, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will actively participate in all aspects of the design process and will be instrumental in ensuring the performance and reliability of critical communication systems for defense, law enforcement, and public safety agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of multi-GHz RF hardware development experience.
- Good working knowledge of RF board layout, fabrication, and packaging.
- Hands-on experience with solving EMI, harmonics, spurious, and stability issues.
- Experience using RF simulation tools (i.e. AWR Microwave Office, Altium).
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
- All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities
- Using RF test equipment to evaluate system performance, evaluate compliance compatibility and troubleshoot operation issues.
- Carry out RF test execution and generate status and test reports.
- Define verification matrix and internal specifications of RF performance.
- Review test result data to ensure that actual performance meets expected requirements.
- Review and recommend improvements to existing test strategies.
- Recommend new test techniques and technologies to ensure system performance.
- Design test fixtures and calibrate test equipment.
- Understand proper use and handling of sensitive RF circuits and equipment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
