About The Position

Ericsson is seeking early-career professionals to join our global team as a RF Network Performance and Automation Engineer (RAN Optimization), based in Irvine, CA. This role is designed for individuals with a strong technical foundation, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous learning across RAN, Transport, Core, automation, and services development. You will directly contribute to customer success by supporting peak performance across wireless networks, with responsibilities spanning the full project lifecycle — from pre-sales engineering through final service delivery and acceptance. Travel within the U.S. may be up to 25%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in RF optimization or RAN performance is highly desirable; early-career candidates with strong potential are encouraged to apply
  • Solid understanding of 4G/5G technologies, RF propagation principles, and electromagnetic frequencies and waves
  • Familiarity with automation and tools development, including Python, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and apply effective troubleshooting methodologies
  • Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with both internal colleagues and external customers
  • Ability to develop structured project plans and present technical insights to project managers, sales teams, and key stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement Generative AI tools and automated workflows to streamline network optimization and improve engineering efficiency
  • Lead the launch of new carriers, technologies, and sites for 4G, 5G, 6G, and small cells across major operators
  • Own and support carrier launches, including single-site verification (SSV), cluster drive testing, and auditing activities
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and apply structured problem-solving to troubleshoot RF issues for new deployments
  • Monitor and resolve RF issues related to radio and baseband hardware swaps and associated software changes
  • Deliver complex engineering projects on time and within budget, with a focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
