About The Position

The Effector RF Products Department is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I with the skills and passion to develop complex Radio Frequency (RF) systems, subsystems and components, including antennas, RF circuit cards, and RF test-equipment. A successful candidate is one who functions in a multi-disciplined team, properly applies engineering tools and processes, and is a self-motivated problem solver with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. This is an entry-level Mechanical Engineer position for an individual with educational experience and professional interest in the application of technical mechanical standards, principles, concepts, and techniques. All Candidates will work within a larger team at Raytheon. Candidates perform meaningful engineering tasks for their assigned projects and will also have access to a variety of career development opportunities. These include access to technical mentors and the ability to “shadow” experienced professionals in order to learn about real industry positions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience and/or coursework, project, or internship in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing and design, thermodynamics and heat transfer, vibrations, materials, mechatronics, and/or statics.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with 3D modeling CAD tools, preferably Creo Parametric.
  • Experience creating engineering drawings.
  • Experience fabricating prototype designs.
  • Class projects, professional internships, or academic research demonstrating the ability to apply technical coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating in a multi-discipline team setting to solve complex engineering problems
  • Creating 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for RF product designs
  • Developing prototype hardware designs and coordinating fabrication
  • Performing hands on integration and test support for prototype hardware
  • Holding design and drawing reviews with peers and subject matter experts
