About The Position

At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock and inspire performance for life. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives. WHOOP is seeking a Rework Technician II to support the development, testing, and refinement of innovative wearable technology. In this hands-on role, you will partner closely with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers to build prototypes, perform electrical and mechanical rework, conduct testing and failure analysis, and help maintain highly organized engineering lab environments. The ideal candidate brings strong technical aptitude across both electrical and mechanical disciplines, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to execute high-quality work in a fast-paced product development environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant technician, electronics rework, prototyping, manufacturing, engineering lab, or related hands-on experience
  • Demonstrated experience with PCBA rework and soldering, including working with fine-pitch components; experience with BGA and 0201 or smaller components is a plus
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude with experience in areas such as prototype assembly, product testing, cable or wire harness assembly, adhesives, fixtures, or 3D printing
  • Experience using measurement, inspection, and troubleshooting equipment such as microscopes, calipers, vision measurement systems, multimeters, or similar tools
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage equipment, components, documentation, and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Associate degree in an engineering, science, or technical field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant hands-on experience
  • Interest in consumer electronics, wearable technology, health, fitness, or performance products
  • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical rework, soldering, troubleshooting, and analysis of PCBAs and other electronic components, including fine-pitch and small-form-factor components
  • Build and assemble prototypes, cable assemblies, test fixtures, and small-scale manufacturing assemblies in partnership with electrical and mechanical engineering teams
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical product testing, dimensional measurements, and inspections using tools such as microscopes, vision measurement systems, and calipers
  • Support failure analysis of engineering prototypes and consumer returns, documenting findings and communicating results to engineering partners
  • Maintain and organize electrical, mechanical, and automated test labs, including managing parts inventory, equipment, 3D printers, and lab supplies
  • Support engineering development activities including firmware updates, prototype modifications, test circuit board builds, and other hands-on technical work as needed
