About The Position

The Paint & Rework Technician supports manufacturing and finished goods quality by evaluating, repairing, and restoring cosmetic paint defects on completed vehicles while performing rework and recovery activities on red-tagged units. This position helps reduce scrap, minimize inventory holds, improve throughput, and ensure customer-ready products meet Club Car quality standards. Performs cosmetic paint repair, component installation, vehicle rework, quality verification, and documentation activities. May provide cross-functional support within manufacturing operations as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma/Equivalent required.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Must be able to read and write in English.
Comprehensive knowledge of wet-painting techniques and tools.
Basecoat/Clearcoat systems
Paint defect identification
Wet sanding
Machine polishing
Color matching
Spot repair techniques
Surface preparation
Paint thickness measurement
Position requires wearing a respirator and other PPE specifically designed for the safety of the operator.

Nice To Haves

2+ years of automotive paint repair, collision repair, manufacturing paint operations, or related experience preferred.
Experience with paint correction, polishing, spot repair, and quality inspection preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect vehicles and painted components, identify defects, determine repairability, and escalate non-repairable conditions.
Perform wet sanding, polishing, touch-up, scratch repair, chip repair, clear coat correction, minor run/sag correction, and spot refinishing.
Evaluate red-tagged vehicles, perform approved repairs, install missing components, verify completion, and document rework activities.
Verify color match, gloss, appearance standards, and support quality audits.
Maintain repair, polishing, sanding, and spray equipment while safely handling paints and chemicals.
Support defect reduction initiatives, identify recurring issues, and recommend process improvements.
Operate forklifts and material handling equipment when certified.
Work independently and maintain accurate repair documentation.
Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Work overtime as necessary.
