About The Position

Merrick & Company is seeking a Revit Autodesk Technical Lead for its Geomatics group. This position can be remote, with occasional travel to the Greenwood Village office. The role involves leading a team of Revit Designers, directors, and contractors to transform lidar building scans into BIM building models and perform QA/QC for a large, multi-year project. The position requires a broad understanding of technical disciplines, with a primary focus on Architectural, Structural, and Mechanical/Piping design. The Technical Lead will develop and manage the process for creating Revit models from terrestrial lidar and/or CAD drawings, utilizing and creating Merrick Revit templates. Responsibilities include managing Revit modeling subcontractors and having dotted line management of internal staff for QAQC and modeling. The role involves collaborating with other disciplines to ensure accuracy, meet schedule and budget, and provide technical support for estimating and scoping Revit projects. The lead will also execute Revit modeling tasks while overseeing projects at a high level. Key activities include linking Recap point cloud files and CAD files into Revit, and working with the Corporate Design Technology team to develop project-specific Revit processes and templates.

Requirements

  • Experience working with both subcontractors and clients.
  • At Least Four (4) years of Revit modeling experience is required.
  • Four (4) plus years of working with Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Experience with survey, GIS, Lidar or remotely sensed data.
  • Comfortable developing complex workflows concerning the Revit environment and using Autodesk Model Checker tools in Revit.
  • Proven ability to create Revit models of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to comply with client and Merrick’s Revit standards.
  • Generate construction documents from Revit Models.
  • Experienced with Omni classes.
  • Experience in Integrating Building Information Modeling (BIM) with the Internet of Things (IoT) transforms static 3D models into "living" digital twins.
  • Interdisciplinary coordination/clash detection using Revit or Navisworks.
  • Experience developing drawings in Autodesk Revit.
  • Experience building Revit models from terrestrial Lidar data.
  • Experience leading a team of remote direct and contract personnel.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Drafting, Graphic Design; Technical College Certification or equivalent relevant Real-World experience.
  • Experience using Cintoo for model to point cloud clash detection.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the process to create Revit models for facilities from terrestrial lidar and/or CAD drawings.
  • Utilize and create Merrick Revit templates to create models.
  • Manage Revit modeling subcontractors, and have dotted line management of internal staff performing QAQC and Revit modeling.
  • Work with other disciplines to ensure accuracy of the package, meet schedule, and budget commitments and must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
  • Link Recap point cloud files into Revit.
  • Link CAD files into Revit.
  • Work with Corporate Design Technology team to develop project specific Revit processes and templates.
  • Provide technical support for estimating and scoping Revit projects.
  • Execute Revit modeling a portion of the time, while also driving projects at a high level.
