About The Position

The Review Specialist I is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing medical records of varying length, complexity, and medical specialty. This role involves extracting, organizing, and documenting factual medical information in accordance with client-specific instructions, company procedures, and quality standards, utilizing company-approved electronic platforms. The specialist will identify relevant information, omissions, inconsistencies, and documentation requirements, applying learned procedures, project requirements, feedback, and process updates consistently across assignments. This position requires independent work performance with minimal supervision, organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple assignments while meeting productivity, quality, and deadline requirements. It also involves exercising judgment and critical thinking within established guidelines and review parameters, and adapting to changing priorities, client requirements, and business needs. Maintaining strict confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) and complying with HIPAA requirements, company policies, confidentiality agreements, client requirements, and applicable security procedures are crucial. The role also includes administrative responsibilities such as accurately recording work time, submitting required reports, following departmental procedures, demonstrating professionalism, and supporting departmental and organizational objectives.
