About The Position

Relay is seeking a Revenue Intern for Summer 2027 to join their Intelligent System of Action for the physical economy. This internship offers exposure to executive and senior leadership, a cross-functional cohort, structured learning sessions, real project ownership, and an opportunity to present work at the Intern Showcase. The intern will gain experience at the Raleigh HQ with team lunches, social events, and access to campus amenities. Requirements

• Accounting major entering their final year (rising senior), or a recent grad who will begin a Master's in Accounting program in the fall following the internship.
• Comfortable working in Excel.
• Experience or interest in using AI tools for data analysis.
• Attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Curious, self-motivated, and comfortable asking questions.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to accounting coursework covering ASC 606.
• Any familiarity with NetSuite or other ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the Revenue Accounting team on ASC 606 compliance, deferred revenue analysis, and month-end close processes.
• Gain exposure to how the team applies ASC 606 revenue recognition, including reviewing sales orders, customer contracts, and invoices.
• Partner with the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting on a cross-functional initiative to redesign internal revenue reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Sales, Customer Success, and Legal on contract and order questions.
• Take on a defined project focused on identifying a recurring manual process within revenue accounting and either building a tool to automate it, conducting a deep analytical review to improve it, or developing documentation/training materials.
• Present project findings/deliverables at the Intern Showcase at the end of the internship.
• Support the broader Accounting team on ad hoc requests and special projects as needed.
