We are a private equity–backed, SaaS company seeking a Revenue Accountant to support our finance organization. This role is highly visible and will be instrumental in the revenue accounting processes supporting operational requirements in a PE environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, majority offshore accounting organization, has strong technical accounting skills, and understands the importance of audit readiness, process discipline, and data integrity as the company scales toward its next value-creation milestone.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 years of accounting experience, SaaS preferred
  • Experience in ASC 606 revenue recognition standards and their application in SaaS environments
  • Strong understanding of subscription business models, multi-element arrangements, and professional services revenue
  • Experience with deferred revenue calculations, contract modifications, and revenue allocation
  • Experience with sales and use tax filing using Avalara
  • Proficiency with Intacct and Salesforce
  • Advanced Excel skills including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in PE-backed or high-growth environments

Responsibilities

  • Ensure revenue recognition for all subscription and professional services revenue
  • Own customer relationships for billings, collections and cash application
  • Review deferred and unbilled revenue for accuracy
  • Responsible for all required sales and use tax returns, state registrations and other statutory filings
  • Review monthly revenue-related journal entries and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly commissions and partner with Human Resources on payroll
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales and Revenue Operations teams
  • Support monthly close cycles and annual audit process
  • Maintain and enhance revenue accounting policies and internal controls
