About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Revenue Accountant to join a growing finance and accounting team. Working closely with Corporate and divisional finance teams, this position will be responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of revenue-related transactions and compliance with applicable revenue recognition accounting guidelines, including ASC 606. The Revenue Accountant will also oversee accounting for deferred revenue, perform monthly account reconciliations for deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and accounts receivable, and provide accurate analysis of customer and sales metrics to Sales and Finance leadership.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably within a software, technology, or similar industry.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite or comparable platforms.
  • Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred.
  • Experience with revenue automation tools, such as NetSuite ARM, preferred.
  • Understanding of SOX/internal control requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze multi-element arrangements and process daily revenue transactions using an ERP system.
  • Review executed revenue contracts and agreements to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Maintain and enforce internal control procedures and documentation requirements related to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close activities.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to: Unbilled receivables, Accounts receivable, Deferred revenue
  • Assist with analysis used to establish Standalone Selling Prices (SSP) for products and services.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting schedules required for financial statement disclosures.
  • Participate in ERP system implementations, enhancements, and revenue automation initiatives.
  • Participate in annual external audits and provide requested accounting documentation.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports, financial analyses, and special projects for management.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve revenue accounting processes and reporting.
