About The Position

The Revenue Accountant position is responsible for the completion of the daily, weekly, and period close revenue reconciliation processes. This role will be an integral member of a team focused on recording and reporting revenue for all HE&R properties on an accurate and timely basis. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Hospitality/Tourism, or a related industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant work experience can be substituted for education - 4 years.
  • Strong knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic
  • Detail oriented with solid analytical skills
  • Strong aptitude for technology and software solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Maintain broad knowledge of U.S. GAAP, as well as an aptitude for technology and problem solving

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP implementation or hands-on experience with Workday a plus
  • Experience with Property Management System (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) preferred
  • Data Analytics experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Compile, audit, and reconcile daily revenue that is posted by Operations through multiple Point of Sale (POS) systems, utilizing advanced Excel and Database functions.
  • Research, resolve, and report variances in revenue and payment processing.
  • Periodically review and update departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare, review, and publish daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reports for multiple operations ensuring accuracy in key operating statistics.
  • Perform weekly and period-to-date reviews to ensure accuracy of interim journal versus Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Refine and streamline the revenue reconciliation process by identifying areas that require extensive manual input and then developing and implementing tools to automate processes.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of how revenue is generated, reconciled, and reported in order to ensure GAAP compliance and improve internal controls surrounding revenue recognition.
  • Act as the primary backup to the Revenue Supervisor/Technical Lead to ensure seamless daily reporting and operational continuity, assisting with process or system configuration, testing, data validation, and reporting as related to revenue accounting processes.
  • Assist internal departments, including Accounts Receivable and Payroll, by compiling data and responding promptly to inquiries.
  • Perform month-end closing duties, including the preparation of journal entries as well as the completion of complex balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
