This employee controls damaged products as well as product returned to the warehouse from delivery routes. This is an active, physical role that includes operating an electric pallet jack, and/or forklift. The employee will operate an electric forklift, which requires moving levers and pressing pedals to drive the truck and control the movement of the lifting apparatus in the cooler, freezer, and dry spaces. The role involves reviewing damage sheets and damaged products to determine salvageability, re-boxing and re-labeling when possible, and returning the product to inventory. The employee will put away dry, cooler, and frozen repacks and returns, ensuring correct slot placement. Maintaining the quality of perishable products by ensuring proper rotation, monitoring expiration dates, and communicating concerns to inventory control are key responsibilities. The role also includes relaying issues of short-dated product to inventory control, handling product as necessary, and sending product to the food bank as needed. Verification of driver's paperwork and returned merchandise, checking and correcting all reason codes, and breaking down routes, separating adjustments and clean invoices are also part of the job. Ensuring inventory accuracy by assisting Inventory Control as needed and putting away all returns daily are essential. Sorting returns and recouping salvageable product, and providing coverage for Driver Check-In as needed are also required. Adherence to company safety policies and procedures, and compliance with company high risk and sensitive items procedures are mandatory. Other duties may be assigned.
