About The Position
The retort operator is responsible for operating and monitoring retort systems used in the thermal processing of food products. They ensure that canned goods are processed under controlled conditions to meet safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently at times with little direction
- Strong and sound decision making skills
- Ability to track multiple lots of product
- Ability to read scales and charts
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
- Computer and calculator skills
- Need to be able to take and pass Better Process Control class on canned foods and thermal processing.
Nice To Haves
- Operation of Retort equipment (training will be provided)
