About The Position

Safely and properly operate loader machine essential to the production of food products at Summer Garden Food Manufacturing. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures must be followed at all times.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Frequent lifting of material up to and including 50 pounds.
Ability to push and pull materials up to 700 pounds.
Able to read and write English fluently
Basic mathematic and reading.
Regularly required to talk, hear and see
Frequently required to stand, walk and bend.
Manual dexterity with ability to reach with hands and arms.
Climbing ladders and stairs often.
Able to work in both hot/humid (in excess of 110 degrees F) and cold (below -20 degrees F) environments.
Able to bend and go under conveyers.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the food/beverage industry (if necessary)
Previous experience in Manufacturing or production environment (if necessary)

Responsibilities

Safely and properly changeover and operate any equipment located in the immediate retort work area.
Properly and thoroughly clean and sanitize the immediate work area.
Ensure retort cages are stored safely in the proper area.
Perform operator level adjustments and preventative maintenance on equipment located in the immediate work area.
Successful and accurate completion of all paperwork and touch screen entries.
Ensure completion of any and all rework including directing and training temporary workers to complete tasks.
Follow safety regulations and procedures required by SGFM/Quality/SQF/GMP’s/OSHA regulations/Preventative Controls.
Working knowledge of weights, measurements, measurement conversions and batching of kettles.
Build a team environment within the immediate work area and throughout the SGFM organization.
Complete instructions and goals set by their supervisor.
Operate a forklift and Pallet Jack as required to move pallets around and off the lines. (In house certification will be provided)
Ability to work under pressure while multi-tasking.
Help load retort cages into the retort when help is needed.
