About The Position

The Retirement Consultant (RC) is a member of a collaborative, phone-based team within U.S. Retirement that helps 401(k) participants who are leaving or retiring from their employers make informed decisions about their retirement assets. The team is responsible for more than $3.5 billion in annual asset retention, including IRA rollover flows. The RC learns about each participant’s needs, explains the available distribution and product options, and offers guidance to help the participant choose an option that fits their circumstances. The RC develops expertise in John Hancock 401(k) products, IRA offerings—including the JH Mutual Fund IRA, JH Managed IRA, and JH Guaranteed Income for Life Variable Annuity IRA (GIFL)—investment options, and education- and advice-based methodologies. The role involves assisting participants with opening or funding IRA accounts, supporting financial intermediaries and partner advisors, and managing inbound and outbound calls to meet participants’ needs in a timely manner. The RC is expected to provide a professional customer experience, meet activity and productivity targets, and uphold high standards of integrity and conduct.
