This role involves independently examining and handling complex retirement calculations and transactions within defined timing and quality standards. The analyst acts as a resource for calculation and transaction processing, supports the management and review of participant data and retirement information, and may offer informal oversight and conduct quality checks.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an analytical field is required. Fields may include Math, Actuarial Science, or Statistics.
  • Strong mathematical, technical, and analytical skills combined with meticulous attention to detail
  • Must demonstrate sound decision-making capacity alongside strong organizational skills
  • Must exhibit robust mentoring, interpersonal, and listening skills
  • Must be able to interpret plan/contract provisions and apply them to the calculation being requested
  • Needs to have the capacity to handle a heavy workload and prioritize effectively amid frequent interruptions
  • Must be a teammate and a positive influence in a team environment
  • High integrity and discretion to ensure the confidentiality of sensitive client data

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheet and database or comparable PC software packages, or the capacity to learn, is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Independently examine and handle complex retirement calculations and transactions within defined timing and quality standards.
  • Act as a resource for calculation and transaction processing.
  • Support the management and review of participant data and retirement information.
  • Offer informal oversight and may conduct quality checks of transactions and calculations.
  • Conduct retirement calculations and transactions while adhering to compliance requirements, client/legal documents, and tax considerations.
  • Investigate and address calculation and transaction issues.
  • Achieve performance measurement standards to guarantee calculations are timely and of high quality.
  • Provide positive informal leadership influence and support to all team members.
  • Share knowledge, possibly serving as a subject matter expert and mentor resource to internal business partners.
  • Communicate effectively with internal business partners to resolve problems.
  • Report and communicate problems, working with appropriate technical and actuarial areas for resolution as needed.
  • Identify and recommend the most effective system solutions, workflows, and procedures for the maintenance and improvement of customer service.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required.
