About The Position

The Black Tux is seeking a Retail Training Facilitator to bring their training program to life in the field. This role is responsible for training delivery across flagship showrooms and Nordstrom partner locations, ensuring consistent product knowledge, selling, and service standards. The facilitator will lead live sessions, coach on the floor, and adapt training materials to meet specific team needs. While not the owner of the central curriculum, they are key to its field implementation and tailoring.

Requirements

  • 3 -5+ years of experience in training, facilitation, or a customer-facing retail leadership role, ideally in premium or specialty retail.
  • Available to work daily, on-site, out of one of our flagship Showroom locations: Los Angeles, San Diego, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Chicago, Dallas, or Atlanta
  • Ability to travel across regions, up to 50% of the time
  • Proven ability to lead engaging sessions and coach in a live setting across all levels, from new associates to store leadership.
  • A background in retail selling, styling, or service that lets you coach with credibility.
  • Comfort traveling across your territory, including overnights.
  • Proficiency with everyday business tools (Google Workspace or Microsoft Office) and virtual platforms (Zoom, Teams, Meet).

  • Content-creation ability using an LMA is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-person and virtual training across showroom and Nordstrom locations in your territory, covering onboarding, product knowledge, selling and styling skills, and the client experience.
  • Lead workshops, role-plays, and floor coaching that build confidence in selling and managing multiple customers at once.
  • Provide on-the-floor reinforcement during and after launches, new product introductions, and seasonal pushes.
  • Partner with district and area managers to identify skill gaps and follow up on retraining needs.
  • Adapt and localize existing training materials to fit territory and location-specific needs.
  • Build job aids, quick-reference guides, and session decks that support the central curriculum.
  • Share field feedback with leadership to improve and update programs.
  • Track attendance, completion, and post-training performance.
  • Provide debriefs to store leadership and the VP, Showroom Experience on what was covered and where follow-up is needed.
  • Stay current on product launches, selling techniques, and service standards.
