About The Position

America's Thrift Stores is currently seeking Retail Team Members! We are looking for dependable individuals with excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Successful team members help drive sales by delivering exceptional customer service at the register and on the sales floor while maintaining an organized, clean, and welcoming shopping environment. In this role, you will assist customers, operate the cash register, stock and merchandise products, and support the day-to-day operations of the store. We are seeking outgoing, reliable self-starters who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working as part of a team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about serving their community while contributing to a mission-driven organization. We are currently hiring for morning, mid-day, and closing shifts. Open availability is strongly preferred, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as schedules are based on business needs.

  • High School Degree, GED or equivalent work experiences preferred
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Displays excellent sales and customer service skills through interactions both in person and on the phone
  • Ability to anticipate customers’ needs and recommend merchandise
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
  • Ability to count and handle money
  • Ability to operate cash register
  • Must be able to meet physical demands
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule (mid-shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Greet and interact with customers
  • Operate the register when needed
  • Help keep our sales floor clean and attractive to our customers
  • Share information about our charity partners and our mission with our customers
  • Assist customers with questions and concerns
  • Lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Warmly greets and engages with customers upon entry
  • Promptly responds to customer inquiries and requests
  • Assists customers in locating merchandise throughout the store
  • Attends promptly to cash register calls and operates the register as necessary
  • Approaches tasks with a strong sense of urgency
  • Adheres to proper procedures for handling claims merchandise
  • Maintains a well-organized and visually appealing sales floor
  • Possesses knowledge of products, discounts, and the company's mission
  • Stays informed about all aspects of store operations
  • Completes any additional duties as assigned by management
