Although the company has grown tremendously from its early days, it remains headquartered in the small lakeside Canadian town of Bobcaygeon where it was founded. Today Kawartha Dairy operates 13 retail stores and services a wide range of customers, from grocery stores to food service establishments and of course, ice cream parlours. Kawartha Dairy entered the BC market through scoop shops and grocery stores in 2024 and we are very excited to have opened our first Kawartha Dairy Store in Western Canada in Britannia Beach in Spring 2025. Requirements

• 1-2 years’ experience in restaurant supervision or progressive retail experience.
• A wonderful smile and great attitude working with a team.
• Positive, friendly and social with customers and team members.
• Mature and reliable with strong communication skills and work ethic.
• Flexible schedule and ability to work evenings, weekend shifts as well as federal and civic holidays.
• Excellent coach, mentor, teacher, and communicator who cherishes the experience of managing and working with people.
• Ability to adapt and lead others in a constantly changing, high paced, but super fun environment.
• Ability to work independently and multitask.
• Physical ability to work long hours standing/walking and bending at the waist.
• Tasks that involve grasping using repetitive hand action and reaching above should height to perform some duties.
• Ability to lift and/or move objects weighting at least 11.3 kg (25 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Scoop ice cream, make milkshakes and assist customers with their purchases.
• Assist the store management team to maintain and improve procedures and personnel practices for store inventory.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Maintain the practice of inventory rotation and control.
• Analyze results of inventory variances and improve.
• Assist the store management team to establish and maintain work schedules to allow for variances in customer ordering.
• Train all staff in exceptional customer service.
• Develop and supervise staff to achieve high levels of performance and customer service.
• Develop and maintain a positive productive team working environment.
• Supervise staff in the proper practices utilized in the proper preparation and handling of products.
• Assist the store management team to maintain communications with staff and customers.
• Ensure customer satisfaction is carried out and resolve customer concerns and/or escalate to the next level of authority as appropriate.
• Ensure that front of house offerings are prepared with the highest caliber of presentation.
• Provide for monitoring and reporting of personnel practices.
• Maintain safe and sanitary conditions for staff and customers.
• Retain a thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures.
• Assist the store management team to maintain required schedules and procedures for inspection and monitoring of store equipment, store building, processes and procedures.
• Follow inspection schedules for equipment and building.
• Provide for inspection and monitoring of processes and procedures.
