About The Position

Cotopaxi is opening a new store in Bend, Oregon, and is seeking a people-first leader to bring the brand to life. The stores are envisioned as hubs for connection, inspiration, and adventure, focusing on creating meaningful, personal, inclusive, and impactful guest interactions. The Store Manager will be responsible for launching and leading the new location, including hiring and coaching the team, building community partnerships, hosting events, and managing day-to-day operations to create a high-impact and vibrant store experience. This role is suited for individuals who thrive on connection, build trust through action, and enjoy developing others, playing a key role in scaling Cotopaxi's unique retail experience.

Requirements

2+ years of experience managing a team of 10+ in a retail environment.
A strong sense of ownership and pride in leading people and building community.
Comfort with ambiguity, problem-solving, and rapid adaptation.
Ability to use data to inform decisions and improve performance.
Experience successfully hiring, training, and developing high-performing teams with a focus on inclusion.
Skilled at building thoughtful, efficient schedules that balance business goals with team well-being.
An entrepreneurial mindset, energized by launching something new and learning fast.
Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
Flexibility to work varying hours to support team and business needs.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet.

Responsibilities

Lead by example on the sales floor, modeling storytelling, connection, and authentic guest experiences.
Build and coach a best-in-class team that drives sales and local impact.
Create training moments that energize, develop, and celebrate Guides.

Manage all aspects of the business, including budgeting and P&Ls.
Drive KPI success while staying rooted in purpose.
Manage inventory, merchandising, and back-of-house operations.
Collaborate with the regional leader on business development and strategy.
Plan monthly community and revenue-driven events that create meaningful local connections.
Lead the hiring, scheduling, and development of the store team.
