About The Position

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for developing, directing, and managing a marketing program for a retail store using efficient and approved business practices to maximize revenue. This role involves analyzing store sales to establish performance standards, detect trends, and determine appropriate actions. The manager will also focus on developing the sales abilities of disabled workers, training and motivating Sales Associates, and driving sales through effective display techniques, product knowledge, and sales methods. Additionally, the manager will make routine operational decisions in the absence of the Senior Manager.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent (minimum requirement).
  • Two Years supervisory and retail sales or related experience required.

  • Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and sizing to promote a pleasant and safe shopping experience.
  • Resolve all customer concerns, complaints, and conflicts while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude.
  • Seek supervisor assistance if unable to personally resolve issues.
  • Consistently monitor customer checkout times and provide prompt aid to expedite transactions.
  • Process friendly, efficient, and accurate cash register transactions.
  • Thank every customer for their purchase and support of the Goodwill Mission.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and reinforce Associate customer service job requirements.
  • Possess an understanding of and commitment to the Goodwill Mission.
  • Effectively communicate the Goodwill Mission to customers.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve general store conditions to reflect and promote the high standards of Goodwill Industries.
  • Plan and forecast an effective marketing program based on guidance, market trends, seasonal demands, store capacities, and experience.
  • Use the approved budget to govern operations, making adjustments for significant variations.
  • Review and analyze results on a continuing basis to determine significant performance factors and take corrective action as directed.
  • Maintain up-to-date store records.
  • Prepare a weekly work plan outline indicating activities and goals for the coming week.
