Temporary Seasonal Retail Store Associate - Part Time
About The Position
The Seasonal Peak Associate is a temporary seasonal position supporting essential store operations, including register support, freight receiving, and product merchandising in designated areas. The role contributes to a positive customer experience and efficient store operations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment during peak seasons and at newly opening stores. Associates provide customer service, operate registers, promote customer initiatives, maintain merchandise displays, receive and prepare deliveries, move fixtures, and help keep the store safe and organized. The role is primarily in a climate-controlled environment, though conditions vary across sales, stockroom/receiving, and operations/office areas. Physical tasks include frequent movement, ladder use, reaching, and lifting; associates should be able to lift 35 pounds regularly. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Requirements
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Legible handwriting.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform physical activities including moving, remaining stationary, ascending and descending, positioning oneself, reaching, and using hand tools and ladders.

- Prior merchandise receiving, handling, and stocking experience in retail or warehouse environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service, build friendly rapport using the T.R.E.A.T. model, and foster a welcoming environment.
- Operate a cash register efficiently, handle transactions accurately, and assist customers with product inquiries, item locations, and purchases.
- Promote Company-wide customer initiatives, including donations, loyalty programs, and special offers.
- Maintain accurate displays, restock assigned areas, and meet OSJL merchandising standards.
- Unload deliveries according to Company processes, organize merchandise, and prepare it for the sales floor.
- Safely set up and move fixtures as needed.
- Collaborate effectively and independently to achieve goals, and communicate improvement opportunities to store leadership.
- Understand, support, and implement store safety protocols.
- Keep the environment neat, organized, and safe through regular cleaning and janitorial tasks.
