About The Position

The Seasonal Peak Associate role at Ocean State Job Lot is a seasonal, part-time or full-time position responsible for processing and preparing receipts of merchandise, fixtures, and supplies at an assigned location. The associate also helps move, stock, and replenish merchandise in sales-floor and receiving areas. Associates receive a 30% discount. Compensation is $16.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Basic math and reading skills.
• Legible handwriting.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

• Prior merchandise receiving, handling, and stocking experience in retail or warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Company’s freight management process when unloading.
• Unload merchandise, fixtures, and supplies from trucks and direct them to designated areas.
• Prepare merchandise for the sales floor by unpacking it, verifying price information, and ticketing it when necessary.
• Process merchandise according to Company procedures and direction.
• Perform ongoing recovery during shifts, including collecting trash and compacting cardboard.
• Work independently and as part of a team to accomplish assigned goals.
• Operate a cash register as needed.
• Recover receiving areas and the sales floor before the end of each shift.
