About The Position

Boscov's is seeking a Retail Sales Department Manager to supervise a team of associates in a fast-paced retail environment. The manager helps associates develop customer relationships and ensure customers’ needs are met quickly and efficiently. The role combines retail management experience with selling and customer-service skills.

The manager oversees and participates in merchandising and selling-floor setup to support sales and customer service, and manages sales and stock functions. The position also includes training and developing associates, sharing product knowledge, handling transactions and paperwork in accordance with company policies, and ensuring advertised merchandise is properly displayed and signed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior retail sales management experience.
• Ability to lead a retail sales team to engage customers, sell merchandise, and provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to learn computer systems, POS registers, and Telxon, and to interpret reports.
• Availability to work varied days and hours as required by the schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong selling and/or customer-service experience preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the activities of the sales and stock functions.
• Supervise and participate in merchandising and selling-floor setup to provide maximum sales and customer service.
• Train, coach, and develop associates by leading by example.
• Provide in-depth product knowledge and support other components of customer service.
• Complete transactions and paperwork accurately and efficiently while following company policies and procedures.
• Monitor advertised merchandise and ensure advertisements are set and signed properly.
• Lead associates in engaging customers, selling merchandise, and providing excellent customer service.
