About The Position

As a Retail Sales Counselor, you will be responsible for counseling, advising, and assisting retail store owners and managers on how to most profitably operate a retail supermarket. You will engage the company's various services and programs, and through your experienced judgment, serve as the primary point of contact and relationship owner with the retailer.

  • Valid Driver's License and Valid Insurance with extended liability limits.
  • Liability Insurance Requirement: You are required to carry $500,000 single limit coverage, but we will accept $100,000/$300,000/$50,000 limits on the policy, if the single limit coverage is not available.
  • Must maintain a clear driving record.
  • 5-7 years of Senior store management experience.
  • General Equivalency Diploma - General Studies, High School Diploma - General Studies

Responsibilities

  • Create, nurture, and maintain a positive climate between retailers and the company, and between each retailer and the Retail Counselor.
  • Accumulate and organize relevant economic and operating data to enable retailers and the company to plan, organize, and manage operations effectively.
  • Accumulate and assemble internal facts relevant to the management of each retail store, including sales, market share, customer count, productivity measurements, transaction data, distributions, margins, expense controls, profits, gross & net, R.O.I., cash flow, competitive situation, shrink, marketing, and advertising.
  • Analyze and organize data into usable form.
  • Coordinate with relevant retail support services such as store development, marketing, financial services, and real estate.
  • Initiate and/or continue to support and administer short and long-range plans aimed at perpetuating retail viability by developing 'A plan for every store'.
  • Set goals and determine specific objectives for operational improvements, promotional activities, and physical store development.
  • Focus primarily on operational, promotional, and GSC sales program issues in short-term retail planning.
  • Concentrate principally on upgrading the physical facility in long-term planning, including remodeling, expansion, and/or relocation.
  • Coordinate major projects with company support services.
  • Recommend solutions to retailers and assist them in selecting and implementing the best course of action.
  • Annually develop budgets for the assigned territory.
