The Retail Sales Cashier is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service in our retail stores. The ideal candidate must be fully competent in selling products and services while maintaining a welcoming and professional store environment.

Requirements

  • Customer Service – Provides friendly, efficient, and helpful service to customers, addressing questions and resolving issues promptly.
  • Basic Math Skills – Proficiency in handling cash transactions, calculating totals, providing correct change, and managing discounts/promotions.
  • Attention to Detail – Ensures transaction accuracy to prevent errors in cash handling, change, and receipts.
  • Communication Skills – Engages with customers professionally, answering questions and resolving complaints effectively.
  • Time Management – Works efficiently, particularly during peak hours, handling multiple transactions quickly and accurately.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively in a professional setting and build rapport with customers.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Foreign language proficiency is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and actively engage in a positive and professional manner.
  • Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude while working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Operate a computerized point-of-sale (POS) and billing system, ensuring accurate entry of sales and customer information.
  • Process various forms of payment, including cash, credit, debit, checks, and gift certificates/vouchers.
  • Handle refunds and exchanges following company policies.
  • Invoice products such as prepaid cards, mobile devices, accessories, and electronics.
  • Reconcile daily transactions, prepare deposits, and generate end-of-day reports for management.
  • Assist customers in setting up Self-Care Access as requested.
  • Maintain store appearance by keeping products neatly organized and attractively displayed.
  • Regularly clean and arrange shelves to maintain a high standard of visual presentation.
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained by checking daily inventory and replenishing as needed.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, such as vacuuming, sweeping, wiping down surfaces, and emptying trash.
  • Assist with special projects and provide additional departmental support as needed.
  • Attend required departmental meetings and training sessions.
  • Adhere to the company dress guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Set Promise to Pay (PTP) dates on customer accounts upon request.
  • May be required to work at other store locations as part of a rotation or business need.
