About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The associate adheres to operational, merchandising, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs.

The role supports a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; accurately processes purchases and returns; promotes credit and loyalty programs; prepares and merchandises products; and helps maintain store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction standards. The associate provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback, follows applicable labor laws and company policies, and performs other duties as assigned.

The position is at the TJ Maxx store at 240 Main St. Rt. 38, Wilmington, Massachusetts. The starting pay range is $16.25–$16.75 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits are subject to applicable plan terms and may change.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following customer experience principles.
• Model customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to established procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Maintain merchandising standards and follow established merchandising procedures.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and participate in maintaining the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Work in multiple store areas when cross-trained to support business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
