Retail Sales Associate
About The Position
As a full-time Verizon Retail Sales Associate, you will work with a team in a Verizon retail store to drive sales and deliver customer service. You will learn customers’ needs, recommend products and solutions, close sales, and continue developing your skills through training in store operations, merchandising, and inventory. The role may also involve contacting current Verizon customers who are interested in Verizon products and services, as well as engaging with the community at off-site Verizon-sponsored events. The position is onsite at a defined work location and is scheduled for 40 hours per week. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required, and schedules are provided four weeks in advance. Employees may be able to pick up additional shifts during busy periods. Compensation includes an hourly base rate of $16.00 to $21.00 plus individual sales commissions; actual compensation varies by geography, hours worked, and performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of relevant experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; schedules are provided four weeks in advance.
- Openness to picking up additional shifts, typically during summer, November through December, and/or peak vacation periods.

Responsibilities
- Generate retail sales by applying knowledge of technology and providing customer service.
- Identify customers’ needs by building connections and asking questions.
- Recommend products and solutions to provide customers with a complete sales solution.
- Close sales by communicating effectively and offering simple, intuitive technology solutions.
- Participate in ongoing training and develop skills in store operations, merchandising, and inventory.
- Place outbound calls and send text messages to current Verizon customers interested in products and services.
- Engage with the community at off-site Verizon-sponsored events to expand the customer base.
