About The Position

Big White is seeking applications for the position of Retail Sales Associate for the upcoming winter season. As a Retail Sales Associate you will have a friendly and cheerful disposition and a willingness to learn. We operate a variety of mountain outlets offering a wide range of products, from ski and snowboard related merchandise to giftware. Candidates with a background in outdoor retail, particularly in technical clothing and snow-related products will be considered an asset. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service through your product knowledge and genuine interest in outfitting our guests with product that will ensure a great experience and memory of their time at Big White.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service mindset with a friendly, outgoing attitude.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, especially in outdoor/sporting goods or apparel.
  • Ability to use a variety of computer applications
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately using a POS system and basic math skills
  • Administrative skills
  • Time management skills
  • Working knowledge of the facility, services and local area
  • Must be approachable, dependable and a strong team player
  • Must be able to deal with people of various ages with animation and with patience
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and peak resort periods (e.g., Christmas, spring break)
  • Comfortable working in a cold, alpine environment and moving between indoor/outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional manner
  • Provide product recommendations based on customer needs
  • Attending sessions to develop excellent product knowledge
  • Keeping the shops and storage areas clean and tidy
  • Restocking
  • Receive, unpack, and organize merchandise deliveries
  • Follow all procedures related to theft prevention, cash handling/balancing, and safety
  • Operate Retail Pro Prizm the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards set by management, including stocking shelves and cleaning.
