About The Position

Bluemercury is seeking a passionate Beauty Expert to enhance customers’ beauty experiences through exceptional service, product knowledge, and beauty advice. The Beauty Expert drives sales and optimizes customer service through client interactions while building relationships. They advocate for beauty and consistently model best-in-class service by assisting clients and meeting their beauty needs, using awareness of current trends and the ability to connect with others.

Requirements

• Foster acceptance and respect and build authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
• Proven retail experience, preferably in the beauty industry.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to share knowledge.
• Passion for beauty and staying up to date on current trends and products.
• Ability to work flexibly, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Self-motivated, current in relevant knowledge, and supportive of operational excellence.
• Resourcefulness and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• 1–2 years of direct experience required.
• Able to meet the physical demands of prolonged standing and walking; exposure to fragrance and home fragrance products; frequent computer, handheld electronic equipment, and cash register use; reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping; color vision; and lifting or moving items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong, personalized customer relationships and create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.
• Maintain and share knowledge of beauty products across skincare, makeup, haircare, and fragrance, and stay current on products and industry trends.
• Recommend products tailored to clients’ needs, preferences, and skin types; demonstrate products and provide application tips.
• Drive sales by communicating product benefits and promotions, and encourage repeat business by sharing information about loyalty programs and upcoming events.
• Assist with stock management, product availability, and maintaining an organized, visually appealing store.
• Participate in and occasionally lead in-store beauty workshops.
• Collect customer feedback and share product and service insights with the management team.
