About The Position
EZCORP is hiring a Retail Sales Associate / Retail Customer Service Team Member (Pawnbroker) for its EZPawn store in Waukegan, Illinois. The position offers a structured career path in a fast-paced retail environment, starting with a five-week paid training program. Upon completion, trainees receive a $0.50-per-hour raise and promotion to Pawnbroker. Employees may pursue Pawnbroker certification for an additional $1 per hour and may advance to Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Leader) or Assistant Manager, which includes a six-month training program. The role involves interacting with customers daily, helping with sales and reaching mutually satisfactory agreements regarding pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Associates contribute to a friendly, courteous, and respectful store environment. Pay is based on experience, with a stated range of $15.00 to $17.00 per hour, and the position offers monthly uncapped bonus potential based on store and individual performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask.
- Self-motivated, positive, and outgoing personality with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test after a conditional offer.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of commonly pawned items, such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
- Sales background.
- Bilingual.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers in person and over the phone.
- Process sales, loans, and extensions.
- Perform store opening and closing duties.
- Help customers with sales and pawn transactions involving items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
